Recent Work
Board and card game workshop
Two teams of our young people designed a card game and a board game! Inspired by two classic games - Monopoly and Charades - the young people designed Sports Day, where participants act out sports for others to guess; this game has become part of our icebreakers and circle times during our sessions. They also designed Road to Country, a multiplayer board game involving travel and cultural themes.
Parody Advert Project
The young people created parodies/original advertisements inspired by a 2000s iPod advert and a soft drink advertisement, using green screen to enhance their vision. This was fully driven by the young people at every stage, from storyboarding and filming to acting.
Parody Music Video Project
This weeklong Easter holiday project involved 9 young people recreating a chosen music video, being in creative control of the production including casting, scouting locations etc.
Both of the above and the Adverts were screened at Lexi Cinema to 68 attendees for our annual event, The Marquis Coker Awards, where we celebrate the work of young people in our community.
Super hero Design/Comic Con Trip
In Apr/May, our young people channelled their inner Stan Lee designing superhero/cartoon characters before our summer programme, where they created comic books, masks/costumes; and a trip to London Anime & Gaming Convention with cartoon/anime voice actors guest speakers and other interactive activities.
Food/Nutrition Workshops
We partnered with Family Action/Change4Life in September/October. This term long project focused on nutrition, learning about food groups and the importance of hydration/exercise/sleep. The young people created nutritional meals, developing their knowledge of healthy eating/food preparation.
