Volunteer roles

Over 350 local people volunteer their time with Octavia each year, to support our work in west and central London supporting local people during times of personal difficulty or crisis.

Volunteering presents a fantastic opportunity to gain new skills and experiences and to enhance your CV and employment prospects whilst meeting new people from a diverse range of backgrounds.

People choose to volunteer for a huge number of reasons, but whatever your motivation, interest, experience or availability, we are certain that there will be a volunteer role for you with Octavia that you will find to be rewarding, challenging and enjoyable.

All of our volunteers receive full training and an induction relevant to their role. We reimburse agreed travel and lunch expenses and organise social events for our volunteers throughout the year.

If you have any questions or queries before applying, please call 020 8354 5646 or email our volunteer coordinator. To read our Volunteer Policy, please click here.

Once you have completed the application form, a member of the team will be in touch to talk you through the next steps. We will check the reference(s) you provide. If you are applying for Befriending or Youth roles you will also need to complete a DBS check.

At the moment we are only able to accept volunteers over the age of 18.

Please note that all the information you provide will be treated in the strictest confidence in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). If you would like to see our full Privacy policy please click on the Privacy and Cookie policy link at the bottom of our website (on all pages).

We are looking to recruit new Trustees who share our vision and values, and who can commit to helping us shape the work we are doing now and into the future.
