Alternative events being held to mark Notting Hill Carnival

Tuesday 24 August 2021

As a result of the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, Notting Hill Carnival will not be taking place on the streets over the August bank holiday weekend, 29-30 August 2021.

Instead, the Carnival community has come together to create a series of smaller, ticketed events before the weekend. This will be streamed over the bank holiday and can be viewed from the comfort of your sofa.

The coverage will feature all of the elements we know and love about Notting Hill Carnival including steel pan, costumes, music and sound systems. More information about how to view it can be found at www.nhcarnival.org

Safety is a top priority for the Carnival organisers and so they have introduced more manageable events to reduce the amount of people in any one space. However the organisers look forward to returning to the streets as usual in 2022.

The organisers, Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster City Councils and the Metropolitan Police are working together to ensure we all have a safe bank holiday weekend and celebrate Carnival at home or in small groups.
