Celebrating Black History Month

Martin Luther King Jr said: ‘We are not makers of History. We are made by History’.

October is Black History Month and a great opportunity to reflect on the significant history, achievements and contributions of Black people, to the communities we serve and beyond. To celebrate Black History Month and demonstrate our support for all it stands for, we will be sharing some fascinating stories and case studies with you over the next few weeks.

The theme this year is to ‘dig deeper, look closer and think bigger.’ If you’re looking for something interesting to do, there are lots of events and activities taking place locally and online. We have published a list of events which are available to members of the public, and can be seen here.
