innocent charity shop challenge

Shoppers at Octavia Foundation shops in Victoria and Knightsbridge were treated to a smoothie shopping experience on earlier this month when staff from the London based drinks maker, innocent, volunteered to take on an Octavia ‘Shops Charity Challenge’.

Armed with lots of tasty fruit juices to give away, two teams from innocent took over the running of Octavia’s Brompton Road and Victoria charity shops and competed to see which was best at running the vintage and pre-loved fashion in stores for the day.

They encouraged passing shoppers into the stores with an energetic mixture of party games (ever played Fruit Pong?), and engaging sales pitches, to create a festival atmosphere. Shoppers joined the fun and enjoyed free drinks with donations and purchases.

The entertaining event had a serious purpose – it greatly boosted sales at both the charity shops. More than £1,600 in sales and donations was taken across the two stores, beating the expected sales revenues. The Victoria team did slightly better on the day and won the challlenge, but both teams did amazingly well.

Octavia Foundation shop volunteer co-ordinator Zahraa Fedhel said: “We really appreciate the hard work from the innocent teams in our Shops Challenge, The teams at both shops did a fantastic job and were a major success for us. Everyone worked tirelessly and brought great energy and fun to the challenge.

“Our shops challenges are an enormous help in raising much needed funds for our community work. We are very grateful to innocent, as we are with all of our corporate volunteers who supporting us in this way.”

The Shops Challenge is just one way in which the Octavia Foundation works in partnership with many local organisations to help raise money to go towards our community projects.
