More than 300 guests attended Reprazent, an inspiring and thought-provoking one day event at the Tabernacle, W11. The event was organised by local young people to celebrate the contribution and talents of young people and to challenge common perceptions of young people in Britain.

With funding from Awards for All, the project gave five local young women the opportunity to develop skills in media, PR, events management and the arts, and a further 20 young volunteers supported activities on the day.  During the day a range of workshops and discussions were held, before a panel discussion debated the perception of young people in society.

Afterwards, guests were treated to performances from spoken word artists, musicians and hip-hop artists including Akala, Suli Breaks and Anthony Anaxagorou

The event was  a great success and the debate really got people speaking, there were lots more people there than we expected and everyone got really involved, we heard lots of passionate opinions!

I’m really excited to have been part of the team and proud of us all for what we achieved – I’m looking forward to being involved in more projects in the future!’
