The Birth of Cool 

Jump in the Octavia Tardis and travel back in time to the 1950's for The Birth of Cool, our exciting new Digital Media Project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. 


For Ages 13 - 25

Join us on a journey to creatively re-imagine a defining time of fashion, music and culture; exploring what made the 50's to 80's on the King's Road such a unique period of time. 

The project will include training in: 

  • Fashion

  • Film-making

  • Photography

  • Drama & theatre 

  • Historical story-telling 

This will be provided by professionals from film, culture and fashion, using industry standard equipment at our community hub Base@theReed
