Deputy Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea presents awards to London volunteers 22 June 2016

The Octavia Foundation was delighted to have the newly appointed Deputy Mayor, Councillor Will Pascall and the Deputy Mayoress, Councillor Sarah Addenbrooke of the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea presenting the Octavia Foundation Volunteer Awards and Celebration at Chelsea Old Town Hall on Wednesday 22nd June. The awards were hosted by the multi-talented performance poet Kat Francois who has worked on projects with the Foundation, and featured impressive table magic from the wonderful magician Magical Bones.

Reena Mukherji, Director of the Octavia Foundation, says:

“The success of the Octavia Foundation, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, depends on the army of wonderful volunteers who visit an isolated older person each week, work on our projects for children and young people, keep our charity shops running and raise funds for us. Quite simply, we couldn’t do any of it without them.”

Cllr. Will Pascall, Deputy Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea says:

It is great to meet the wonderful volunteers and to hear their different stories of the excellent work which is being carried out. A celebration like this helps us to reward that good work over the last year and the impressive 10 years that the Octavia Foundation has been supporting local lives.
