Summer tennis club a success

Saturday 10 August 2013
Medals and certificates were presented by the Worshipful Mayor and Mayoress of Kensington and Chelsea and Peter Chapman, Chair of the Octavia Foundation

Over 35 young children, aged from 4-11 were presented with certificates of achievement by the Worshipful Mayor of Kensington and Chelsea, Councillor Charles Williams and chair of the Octavia Foundation, Peter Chapman.

Our Summer tennis club, which runs for a week each August and includes five days of tennis coaching with a healthy lunch and snacks is delivered by local community sports charity, Solidarity Sports and takes place each year at the Campden Hill Lawn Tennis Club. The tennis club is part of 'Future Olympians' a Summer-long programme of activities from Solidarity Sports.

Many of our young sportsmen return to the club each year, and many return as a volunteer to assist with coaching, when they are older.

Councillor Williams congratulated all of our young tennis players on their achievements, and encouraged them to continue with sport and to live healthy and active lives.
