Solidarity Sports introduce local children to tennis

Summer tennis club

Over 30 young people and children, aged between six to 16 enjoyed a fantastic week of tennis at the Campden Hill Lawn Tennis Club between the 8th and 12th August.

The free programme, which included tennis coaching and a healthy lunch each day, was delivered by Solidarity Sports, with support from the Octavia Foundation.

Solidarity Sports is a fantastic local community charity that works to provide sports activities and opportunities and to promote healthy eating to children living in disadvantaged communities across London.  The Octavia Foundation has supported the charity since its inception and was delighted to attend a celebration of the young people's achievements at the tennis club on the final day of the course.

Many of the children who took part had never played tennis before and really enjoyed trying out a new sport. The programme has also allowed them to improve their balance and coordination skills, whilst enhancing their coordination and self esteem.
