Run the Marathon for Octavia Foundation

We have nine guaranteed places for the 2012 Virgin London Marathon, as part of the Golden Bond scheme. Sponsored and fundraising events are a fantastic way to raise money for the Octavia Foundation, whilst increasing the profile of our work.

To apply for one of these places, please complete the attached application form and return it to us by Friday 16 December, 2011. So that we can make the very best use of these spaces, we ask that all applicants pledge to raise a minimum of £2,000 through sponsorship (exclusive of gift aid).

In return, you will pay no entrance fee to the Virgin London Marathon and we will provide you with an Octavia Foundation fundraising pack.  This will include sponsorship forms and fundraising materials, an Octavia Foundation training t-shirt and Octavia Foundation running vest (for the big day!), an Octavia Foundation drawstring sports bag and Octavia Foundation water bottle. We'll keep in touch with you throughout your training and support you throughout the process.

Oliver Bett, who ran the marathon for the Octavia Foundation in 2011 said, 'running the marathon was an absolutely incredible experience that I would urge anybody who has even a slight inclination that might want to do it, to have a go. Obviously it's not easy, there are times when you may wany yo give up - but remembering who you are running for and all the people who will benefit from your efforts and fundraising really helps.  I chose to run for the Octavia Foundation because of the fantastic work they do with groups and individuals throughout my local community and across west and central London.'

Bupa London 10,000 - Sunday, 27 May 2012

If you don't feel quite ready to take on the Virgin London Marathon, or haven't been successful in securing a ballot place for next year, we have nearly thirty guaranteed places for the Bupa London 10,000 in 2012.

We will open applications for the Bupa London 10,000 2012 on Monday 5 December, 2011.  To register your interest, please contact Sarah Thomas.
